Abstract

Władysław Lam, one of the most intriguing figures in the history of Polish art education, is primarily remembered for his contributions to art pedagogy. He witnessed transformations in Polish art that influenced his work, ranging from inspirations by Polish modernism, through formism and colourism, to allusive abstraction. As an educator, he was active at all levels of education. He actively participated in Polish artistic life, being a member of many art groups and organizations. As a promoter and critic of art, he left a significant legacy in the form of books, mainly focusing on aesthetic considerations and methodological guides. This article highlights the key areas of Władysław Lam's activities.
