Abstract

The article analyzes expenses on Wallachian cavalry troops in the first years of the reign of John Casimir (1648-1655). An increase in the number of these military units and their maintenance expenses was demonstrated. The prevailing opinions in historiography regarding the general number and classification of individual light cavalry units to the Wallachian troops were verified. The obtained data allowed for a precise determination of the percentage share of the Wallachian cavalry in the Crown Army and its budget.
