Abstract

In 1810, the monastery of the Canons Regular of St. Nicholas in Kalisz was closed down. In the Diocesan Archives in Włocławek, a secularization protocol has been preserved, presenting the condition of the church, monastery buildings, church and sacristy equipment. The protocol also includes a list of the monastery's revenues, mainly Mass stipends from places located in the nearby counties and from houses located in Kalisz. The presented assets prove that the situation of the monastery was stable, which means that the liquidation of the Kalisz convent was unjustified and incomprehensible.
