HOW THE COVER OF SPCh HAS CHANGED

  • During the 60 years of the existence of Studia Philosophiae Christianae, the cover of the journal has changed four times. The first four volumes from 1965-1968 had a very simple cover, containing only the name of the journal in green on a cream background and the designation of successive issues, which was designed by the artist-artist Barbara Bojanowska-Jasionowska (1936-2023). Between 1969 and 1983, the name of the journal was placed on the cover in a form referring to the typeface of the ancient Roman script. In addition, the colour scheme of the cover was changed to black, orange and white, and an additional title page in a similar colour scheme appeared inside. In 1983, a further modification took place, which consisted of standardising the background in red and keeping the black lettering with the title of the journal in its previous form, only slightly altered. This cover, which was designed by Stanisław Stosiek, survived until 2015 (with ornamental modifications of the shade of the main colour and the change of the name of the publishing house in connection with the renaming of ATK to UKSW), when the typeface of the title of the journal and the layout were completely changed, retaining the previous red-black colour scheme. Despite the recent change, the journal continues to use the logotype taken from the earlier cover, designed by S. Stośek. The red-and-black colour scheme has also been adopted, as an element of recognition for the SPCh.
