What do the material (Sondergut) of the Gospel according to Matthew about his theology reveal?

Abstract

The specific content of the gospel (Sondergut) contains important information for the interpretation of the entire theological content – contained in the gospel. In the case of Matthew, we are dealing not only with a specific approach to Christology, which is developed as a Christology of relations in the context of Jewish theology, but also with ecclesiological elements that present the community of Matthew as a corpus permixtum. The guiding function - narratively connecting the entire gospel – is practical justice, that should be realized in the life of the individual: making it possible for everyone to attain salvation.
