Abstract

This article discusses the theology of creation in the work of Joseph Ratzinger. The sources for the study are mainly his studies of Bonaventure and his work on the constitution Dei verbum. It is from there that many concepts and distinctions concerning theologia creationis are derived. The analysis of various elements of the theology of creation aims at the possibility of constructing a concept of Revelation in creaturis in Ratzinger, which would include the place of the theology of creation in the revelatory system, anthropology (revelatio in creaturis) and Christology of Creation (revelatio per Christum), as well as an apologetic trait. Exploring the concept of revelation in fundamental theology is always credentialist in nature, i.e. it serves to more effectively refute errors regarding revelation as such and to lead to faith. It is thus a way of arguing for the credibility of Christianity.
