Abstract

In the modern scientific areopagus, there is a debate about the methodological framework and limits of cognition of human being. The various sciences, especially those of empirical provenance, and especially the social sciences, pretend to take the place of philosophy and theology – sciences that, for centuries, have provided the most holistic and non-reductive view of the human being. In this article, we attempt a meta-analysis of various approaches to the study of the human being as a subject ofspirituality, along with a proposal for a methodological model that would enable the cooperation of various sciences in the study of human spirituality. This is a holistic, non-reductionist, “three-dimensional” (Frankl) and multi-level model.
