Abstract

Home education, as an alternative form of education, is gaining popularity and social recognition. Motivated reactively and proactively, by repulsive and attractive stimuli, it expresses opposition to mainstream education and the desire to fulfill compulsory schooling on one’s own terms in family conditions. This study focuses on the problem of home education as a space of: 1) freedom, 2) emancipation and 3) creative self-determination. The aim was to indicate the freedom and emancipation connotations of homeschooling and the implementation potential of its pedagogical achievements developed in the course of independent, creative and innovative solutions that can be used in the field of diagnostic and corrective actions in the public school system. The basic research method was the thematic analysis of literature, which allowed for the outline of theoretical and practical contexts for homeschooling in its emancipatory and implementation dimension. The considerations undertaken were also based on the author’s own experiences as a parent of children with experience in systemic and home education.
