Abstract

Food seems to be a naturally formed skill. However, some children may have some difficulties in this regard. Challenges in the sphere of food affect all spheres of the child’s development, as well as social competences. The article presents the results of research on parental competences, understood as knowledge, ability to cope with difficult situations, in this case related to selective eating of children. We live in a culture of extravagance and shopping. The child’s environment is often stimulated, which can make it difficult for them to acquire skills, including food skills.
