Cued Speech – a method supporting visual perception of utterances by people with hearing impairments

Abstract

The article discusses the issues of supporting the visual perception of people with hearing impairments and the use of the Fonogesty method for this purpose. The benefits of using this communication method were discussed. The next part presents the effects of the Cued Speech Europe project, including the description of individual parts (publications, courses, refresher exercises). The next part of the article is devoted to the presentation of the results of research conducted among the participants of online courses on the Fonogesty method. In the summary, the reader learns about the progress of the Cued Speech method in the world.
