Abstract

Social maladjustment is one of the extremely dangerous forms of social pathology, the most vulnerable are children and young people, in whom in the process of socialization some disruption occurred. Irregularities in the process of socialization can be caused by various factors, including personality, negative reference groups, defective functioning in families or adverse effects of mass media. Socially maladjusted minors are at first directed to the psychological and pedagogical clinics or to community day centres. In case the actions of those socialization institutions do not work, then family courts impose probation.

The thesis has a theoretical and empirical character. Its aim was to analyze the methods of work of probation officers with the socially maladjusted minors.
