Abstract

The purpose of a school is to introduce a young man to a world of norms, values, paragons of behaviour and cultural customs. The elementary school teacher performs a lot of professional tasks in order for children to develop their inner potential, to make them feel agency, to be open for the world, but also for them to want and be able to think independently. School is
an important place for a child but simultaneously it is an area of a symbolic violence. Primary thesis of this work is an assumption that the reflectiveness of a teacher is a crucial factor deciding about a character of said symbolic violence in an educational process organised by a teacher in an elementary school. By presenting a meaning and a purpose of a teacher’s reflectiveness the author is trying to convince a reader that it is a key to make a symbolic violence in an educational process appear as something positive and favourable for development of persons taking part in a such process.
