Abstract

The purpose of this chapter is to present children’s opinions (aged 7 – 12) regarding their views on the contents of intercultural non-formal education activities carried out by Polish non-governmental organisations (NGOs). The study was conducted through unstructured interviews, with 65 participants.

The results of the research show that, thanks to its character (active learning), intercultural non-formal education creates a special space for the development of intercultural competence. Its content and methods are very attractive and popular among children. It may be concluded that intercultural non-formal education carried out by NGOs can provide an inspiring alternative to classic kindergarten and school activities.
