Abstract

This study gathers theoretical considerations on the one hand, and it presents the analysis of the research process on the other. The aim was to show the selected aspects of the upbringing process in the perception of parents. It sought to answer the question of how, in the light of the changing reality and the challenges which the question of upbringing is facing, the studied group of parents assesses the extent to which children should be given freedom in the area of self-determination. An attempt was also made to determine parents' opinions on the ways in which their children approach new situations. In addition to viewing the described issues, the parents' opinion on the expectations they set for the pre-school institution was submitted. The factors which make up the overall functioning of the kindergarten are, in their opinion, the most important and often decisive for the choice of a particular institution.
