Abstract

This article is both theoretical and empirical. Its goal is to examine the concept of authority figure by referencing relevant literature and outlining the main elements that define this notion. Additionally, it presents findings from original research conducted in a primary school located in the Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship. The empirical aspect focused on exploring the environment of the younger generation and the values prevalent within this group. The study also investigated the authorities that today’s youth seek to identify with. It also analyzed the motives for recognizing role models, touching on psychological processes that are an essential element of understanding and perceiving the formation of authority. The figures of authority recognized by the respondents are key reference points in their lives. This leads to significant conclusions for parents, educators and the youth themselves.
