Marek Łagosz: "The Consistency of Supervenience with the Primordiality of a Spiritual Substance and the Extra-material Origin of Individual Consciousness"
In this article, the author attempts to demonstrate the consistency of the thesis of supervenience with the concept of the primacy of spiritual substance and the immaterial origin of individual consciousness. More specifically, he attempts to answer the question: if we assume the supervenience of individual consciousness on the physical (material), can we maintain the thesis of its primacy (more generally: the primacy of spirit) over matter? He concludes that the ontological absolute must (can) be pure spirit, which is the source of all spirituality entangled in the body and the material substrate on which it is realized. The work is a polemic against naturalistic concepts of consciousness.
