Abstrakt

Esej jest omówieniem dwóch książek: Philosophy of the Home: Domestic Space and Happiness Emanuele Coccia (2024) oraz Happiness and Domestic Life: The Influence of the Home on Subjective and Social Well-being pod redakcją Marii Teresy Russo, Antonio Argandoña i Richarda Peatfielda (2022). Komentowane teksty są nie tylko oryginalnymi wypowiedziami, ale mogą też stanowić materiał do badań nad kondycją współczesnych społeczeństw. Wątkiem przewodnim eseju jest pytanie o to, jakiego rodzaju refleksji o domu potrzebujemy. Autorka przytacza propozycje innych, aby w końcu dać własną, opartą na myśli Alasdaira MacIntyre’a i Józefa Tischnera. Opowiada się za uznaniem autonomiczności i suwerenności sfery domowej wobec sfery publicznej.
