Abstract

This paper addresses the subject of feminatives in the Polish public discourse. It describes the changing attitudes toward the use of female occupational and titular names over the years. The author reviews scholarly works, popular science articles and media speeches (TEDx) on the use of feminatives and showing social attitudes towards them. The analysis is complemented by a case study of a specific area of discourse on feminatives – that of the Polish political sphere in 2023.
