This text focuses on the issue of domestic and peer violence experienced by children and youth, viewed from the perspective of the school as an institution within the system of counteracting this phenomenon. The aim of the study is to define the role of the school in preventing and responding to violence, as well as its current capabilities and directions of action, and recommendations in this area. The article draws on qualitative data derived from empirical research conducted in Warsaw schools in 2023. The analysis of the empirical material made it possible to identify two main areas of school activity: working with the students and cooperation with parents and external institutions. In both areas, the main methods and strategies used by teachers, educators, and school specialists were identified, along with barriers and difficulties that require the introduction of new solutions or the improvement of existing ones. Finally, observations and recommendations from representatives of educational institutions in the above-mentioned areas are presented.
