Abstract

10 years ago a group of sociologists from the Institute of Sociology of the Cardinal Stefan Wyszynski University in Warsaw in the person of Tomasz Michał Korczyński, Rafał Wiśniewski oraz Marcin Zarzecki in collaboration with prof. Krzysztof Koseła from the Institute of Sociology of the Warsaw University tried to find the answer to the question, whether in Poland, in connection with the death of Pope John Paul II, the community called “JP2 Generation” had been formed. The result of this research was the study, conducted in 2005, and the publication “Youth in dialogue with the Pope” of Tomasz Michał Korczyński. In March 2015, the research group of the Institute of Sociology of the Cardinal Stefan Wyszynski University in Warsaw, led by Dr. Tomasz Michał Korczyński, Dr. Wojciech Klimski and Dr. Katarzyna Uklańska repeated sociological study. In the present report from that research three interesting aspects are described: the issue of the so-called “JP2 Generation”, the students’ opinions about the person of Pope John Paul II and students’ views about religious morality.
