MORBUS HERMENEUTICUS. PARADYGMAT KOMUNIKACJI W SOCJOLOGICZNEJ I FILOZOFICZNEJ REFLEKSJI NAD KULTURĄ

Tomasz Maślanka

Abstract

In this paper I make an attempt to present the specificity of the cultural world from the sociological perspective of rational social action and as a part of philosophical concept of intentional - creative action. The specificity of the cultural world is here recognized in terms of hermeneutic sociology, in terms of historicity and the category of understanding. The use of the concept of the paradigm of communication for culture involves connecting the notion of creativity to rationality, which allows to go beyond thinking in terms of actions that are institutionalized on the basis of instrumental rationality and also allows to connect rationality to historicity. The analysis primarily puts the emphasis on the symbolic layer of culture and indirectly tries to answer the question about the criterion of this culture.
