The role of eU funds in support of social and cultural activities. case study of czosnów community

Abstract

The aim of this article is to empirically show that EU funds allowed local government units to develop many new investments that would be impossible to implement without external sources and extra-budgetary financing. In addition to the obvious infrastructure investments, the impact of EU funds was also marked in the field of social and cultural activity, which influenced the activation of members of local communities and improvement of cultural offers in such places. These general statements will be subject to verification in relation to actual activities in the rural community of Czosnów (Mazowieckie Voivodeship). This text will show the development of this commune in the context of access to culture, opportunities for civic participation in associations and support in the field of education and education. The subject of the analysis will be investments and programs that the municipality has completed or implements with the total or partial use of EU funds. The text was based on a query of the subject literature and the existing data of the Czosnów commune, obtained in the mode of access to public information, but also in the form of direct, at that time unclassified, information provided by employees of the Community Office.
