Abstract

The security of the modern family and of the children and young people raised within it depends on numerous factors, including military, economic, political, and social ones. Many social phenomena significantly influence families' sense of security and well-being, as well as the socialisation of children and youth. Military threats, which in today’s era of attacks using unmanned aerial vehicles evoke social concerns about the outbreak of war, are one example. Cyber threats, which affect the everyday functioning of families, constitute another category of new phenomena with negative potential and impact on the basic unit of social influence. A similar phenomenon is crime. It is monitored primarily by the Police, which collects crime statistics in the National Police Information System. This study analyses these data. Its aim is to illustrate the scale of crime, including juvenile delinquency as a phenomenon posing a threat to the family, based on data collected by the Police.
