Abstract

The contemporary focus on the efficiency of education is erroneously narrowed down to the category of efficiency measured by quantitative methods. Such treatment of teachers and their pedagogical activities may be a source of ambivalent feelings for educators in relation to their own profession. Autonomy and self-efficacy are the basis of the teacher's inner harmony, understood as a kind of balance. The described attitude is a guarantee of job satisfaction and protects the educator against professional burnout.
