Abstract

Salesian Fr. Ludwik Rupala was a long-standing principal of oratories for educationally neglected youth in Łódź, Warsaw and Rumia. He devoted his entire priestly life to the young generation of Poles, in whom he instilled the educational ideas of St. John Bosco.
The Founder (pre-emptive) method used by him combined religion, reason and educational love. Fr. Rupala was passionate about oratory, creating an educational environment, introducing young people to culture, deepening their religious life. Following the directions of St. John Bosco, he criticized those confreres who inappropriately fulfil their obligations while working with young people. He was a strict but fair judge, endowed with an exceptional pedagogical intuition, he enjoyed the trust of his protégées and their parents.
