The Beginnings And History of the Higher Theological Seminary in Ląd

Abstract

Until the fifties, the province of St. Stanislav Kostka did not have its own seminary, lultí the clerics went to study in Krakow. The Major Seminary of Ląd has begun his activity in 1952, in the first years he was affiliated to the Philosophical Studentate of Kutno-Woźniaków, After 1954 it became the Theological Studentate. At first it was more noticeable lack of an adequate library and insufficient trained teachers. The remarkable merit for the development of the student residence had the Rector don Stanislavo Styrna (1968-1976). Since 1974 sludenti acquire the diploma of the teaching of theology at the Catholic University of Lublin and in the Warsaw Catholic Academy.After the division of the Polish provinces in 1980, the formation houses of the The northern provinces remained united until 1996. The Pila province had a studentate Theological in Ląd, while that of Warsaw Philosophical Studentate (post-novitiate) in Kutno (since 1992 in Lodz). Also in Ląd is the Philosophical and Theological Studentate of the Province of Pila.
