Meeting with Christ Healing in the Sacrament of the Sick

Abstract

Prof. J. Stefañski, a well-known Polish liturgist from the diocese of Gniezno, writes about the 1 meeting with Christ the Healer in the sacrament of the sick. The author is a specialist in this topic, he has it studied for the long time since due to PhD. On the theme of the sacrament of the sick distinguishes seven characteristic encounters of the sick with Christ: The encounter with the Risen Christ, with the Crucified Christ, with the forgiving Christ, with the Christ that the sick man waits for, with the Christ who lifts him up, and also meets him in the community of the Church, and with the Christ who is there always meets in the spirit of faith. Prof. Stefanañski points out, that the sacrament of the sick help the whole man for salvation. Of course, the Author of salvation is God himself, who works through the sacrament of the sick in a sovereign and mysterious way, and for the good of the whole man.
