The complex context of the Targum Jonathan's origins highlights the importance of a critical translation of this text for Polish readers as well. It also complements the recently completed edition of the Polish translation of the Targum Neofiti to the Torah. This publication makes a significant contribution to the ongoing academic debate on the origins and message of the Targum to the Prophets. Additionally, the value of this work is highlighted by the difficult nature of the Aramaic text, the numerous additions and paraphrases present in the text, as well as its mixed dialect, which pose additional challenges for translators. Undoubtedly, researchers interested in Aramaic linguistics, but also in biblical exegesis of the first and second centuries CE, may find this study particularly valuable.
