The article, which is theoretical and research in nature, addresses the topic of adolescents’ relationships with their parents in the context of declared parenting styles. The aim of the research was to identify them, including reflections on relationships within the family. The research was conducted with a group of 106 parents of adolescents in 2022, in the Malopolska. The author discussed the specifics of adolescents’ relations with their parents, including issues of depreciation of parental authority, conflicts in the family and styles adopted by parents of adolescents. She then presented the results of the study, carried out in a quantitative strategy, using a self-administered questionnaire that employed elements of unfinished sentences. The author highlighted issues related to the specificity of the life situation of parents of adolescents who are “at the halfway point” of their lives and the aspect of the “clash” between their world and that of their maturing children.
