The rules for accepting or rejecting publications and the review form are available to the public on the journal's website.
Each article submitted to “Studies on the Family” is subject to preliminary evaluation by the editorial board.
Articles that meet the conditions specified in the “Information for Authors” and receive a positive opinion from the SnR editorial board are forwarded for review.
Two independent external reviewers are appointed to evaluate each publication.
In the case of texts written in a foreign language, at least one of the reviewers is affiliated with a foreign institution other than the author's nationality.
The authors and reviewers do not know each other's identities (the so-called double-blind review process).
The review is in written form and ends with an unambiguous conclusion as to whether the article should be accepted for publication or rejected. The review form is available on the SnR website.
Reviews are forwarded to the author of the work, with a request to respond to them and correct the text in accordance with the recommendations.
In the event of conflicting reviews of an article, the editorial board may appoint a third reviewer.
In the event of negative reviews, the publication is rejected.
Reviews, together with the final version of the articles or the author's detailed response to the reviewer's questions, are archived in the journal.
The names of reviewers of individual publications/issues are not disclosed. The journal publishes a list of reviewers who cooperate with it, both in print and online.
