Abstract

Psychological analysis of family systems of religiously engaged young women is based on comparative analysis of data obtained from research employing methods created by Maria Braun-gałkowska: Scale of Well-Being in Marriage, Scale of family attitudes and Schematic drawing of the family. the research was conducted on the population of 60 families. Half of the families were those of young women actively engaged in the Light-Life Movement, whereas the other half were families of young women not engaged in any religious movements but expressing their faith in a traditional way. The analysis of the results obtained shows substantial differences between family systems of subjects. the satisfaction with their parents’ marriage of religiously engaged young women is definitely higher than satisfaction with their parents’ marriage of young women who are not religiously engaged. Quality of interpersonal contacts in subjects’ perception is definitely higher in families of religiously engaged young women than in families of women not religiously engaged. The experience of positive climate in the family life may encourage young women to actively engage in their religious community where they have a chance to achieve a higher level of personal development by serving others.
