Social protection system and family benefits in Poland – tools of social inclusion or perpetuation of social inequalities?

Abstract

In the text there are presented tools of the implementation of social protection system in Poland: social security benefits and family benefits, in combination with heights of thresholds of social assistance bene-fits, and benefits themselves. Their analysis was combined with a critical reading of social legislation, and, among others, the results of surveys of the Central Statistical Office of Poland. The author concludes, that the current shape and functioning of the Polish social protection system does not allow effective (defined as supporting social inclusion) help the needy.
