Anndrzej Ochocki

Abstract

Description of the poverty range in the world and its consequences to the children has been presented in the article. The main purpose of it is to pointed out the enormous loss of human potential for poor children and society as a whole because of their less cognitive and noncognitive abilities compared with children in rich families which are caused by utter misery. For example, children from three to six years old in poor families have got less abilities to understand language and absorb vocabulary. It means that richer and poorer chil-dren differ greatly in school readiness. Such circumstances need designing interventions that focus on and improve parental competence at home and teachers competence at school results from which would be better education chances for poor children. The World Bank Report 2015 Mind, Society and Behavior described in details the findings in this field.
