Kinga Lendzion

Abstract

The exploratory research Educational aspirations of Malagasy students was carried out in june and july 2015. It was carried out in two Catholic private schools – in the School Complex of St. Peter in Miandrivazo and in the High School of Our Lady of La Salette in Antsirabe. The study was conducted on a group of 265 students. The results indicate that the surveyed respondents have very high educational aspirations. 27,5% of them indicated that they want to get a university degree. It should be mentioned that the quality of education in Madagascar is very low. Excessive grade repetition is a common problem. Nearly half of the surveyed students 47,5% have repeted at least one grade. But the majority of them (57,4%) are convinced they’ll reach the level of education of their dreams.
