Abstract

The aim of the article is to show the reality experienced by the modern child as well as those aspects of this reality which have the main impact on its development. The author also made an attempt at indicating the needs of adults in the area of education towards becoming “a man of the new world” and the ways in which the dominance of pre-figurative culture may create opportunities for children to become teachers and guides of adults in the modern world. Such action may, in consequence, make it possible to restore them to their natural role of transmitters of traditional values and models, while respecting the specificity of children’s functioning in the media reality.
