Philosophical Aspects of Sustainable Development in the Context of “Laudato Si’” Encyclical

Abstract

In this article the comparative analysis of the sustainable development philosophy and Laudato Si philosophy was carried out. At the beginning of the first part the specificity of the sustainable development philosophy reconstructed on the base of the UN was got out and it was discussed from the perspective of philosophy of politics and ethics. In the further pieces of this part the philosophy of Laudato Si was characterized and it was discussed from the perspective of the social doctrine of the Church. In the second part the author focused on the key assumptions of the both philosophical theories. Such premises as holism and dignity were discussed in detail.
