Abstract

The treaties „About the disease of women” of Metrodora and “De ornatu mulierum” of Trotula of Salerno are few of the works which were written by women in the mediaeval period. Both of those works focus on the childbirth and on the disease of women, but there are also some indications about ways of taking cure of women’s bauty. Thanks of these works we know what kind of herbs and minerals were used in the cosmetics treatments.
