Abstract

A sense of identity is considered to be a kind of self-consciousness of man, his judgments, ideas and self-esteem. It is a constant task to perform, which is set to us every day anew because we enter into various interactions each day, gather new experiences, alter or confirm our views or attitudes. We lead internal disputes, hold discussions and talk with other people on a daily basis. Every day, therefore, we have an opportunity to explore our own selves deeper and better. And it is all the more important since the sense of one’s personal identity plays a crucial role in the psychological dimension of human functioning, while loss of identity disorganizes an individual’s personality.
