The Concept of Love of God in the Selected Old Polish Poems for High School Students (Based on Textbooks on Cultural and Literary Education)

Abstract

The issue of human existence within the sacred has a particular prominence in the literary output of the past ages. Therefore, the aim of this article is to reflect upon the concept of love of God depicted in the Old Polish poetry discussed during the Polish language lessons. Another significant thing is the importance of the place and the role of the sacred portrayed in this kind of literature and as a part of literary education, as well as everyday life of high school students. Thus, after analysing the proposals for the methodical solutions included in the poetry, the means of creating reflections on love have been established based on the selected list of poems and activities aiming to increase the modern teenagers’ love of the sacred for things such as other people, homeland, or God.
