Historical auxiliary sciences has lately been noticed to come to vogue among scholars, including Church historiographers in Poland. One example here is vexillology which deals with banners as real and symbolic military, national and territorial signs of organizations as well as social and religious groups. It retains a strong connection with heraldry from which it originates. The article covers the history and symbolism of the School Military Training Team banner of the Salesian Gymnasium of Pius XI in Różanystok from 1933.
