St. John Chrysostom was a priest in Antioch and then a bishop in Constantinople the great preacher and pastor of the second half of the IV century. The article in the first part presents the biography of John Chrysostom, his studies, the period of monastic life, priestly activity in Antioch and episcopal activity in constantinople. The second part of the article is a sample of the idea of John as a preacher. The author discusses his practice of ministry in Antioch and Constantinople and on the examples he flashes through the rule of rhetoric, which John Chrysostom used in sermons. The third part of the article shows St. John Chrysostom as pastor. On the Reason of the homilies of Matthew using in the only way in this part of the article, John Chrysostom presents himself as a pastor who loves the faithful. He notices the problems of Believers, you sins and weaknesses and through the encouragements, the exhortations and that Flashing through the good patterns apply in them to carry out the Christian faith and love.
