Abstract

The Christian life seems to be a continuous process of formation to be a disciple of Jesus. The pedagogical notions of the New Testament show a clear distinction of disciples of Jesus from the other men who followed him, instead above all else they dispute the rabbinic understanding of the state of discipleship. The authority of the master imposes not only learning from him, but points to the example of the teacher who "teaches and acts". An objection of the lack of such coherence, Jesus made to the teachers of Israel of that time. Be a disciple of Jesus implies „remaining in the group”. Being a disciple also means an emotional relationship, moreover a bond of love; a knowledge pointing to the depth of the disciple's nature and not just a simple state of knowledge. Jesus personally calls to an intimate relationship and demands such a personal response. Rather, following Jesus means believing in Him and then trusting Him. The culmination of the process The teaching of Jesus is the manifestation to the disciples of the fullness of the mystery or of one's own person as well as their role in the future, through the fact of their own death and resurrection. This means that the calling of the disciples was to serve only the work of salvation. The Christian life seems to be a continuous process of training to be a disciple of Jesus.
