Abstract

dr M. Miravalle of Catholic University in Steubenville, Ohio, and the Vox Populi Mariae Mediatrici movement he founded have been petitioning the Holy See for many years, demanding the promulgation of a new dogma of Mary Coredemptrix, Mediatrix and Advocate. She is convinced that it is not only a biblically based doctrine and an expression of the general magisterium of the Church, but also a personal wish of Maria. However, the analyzes presented in the article, both biblical and theological, do not allow any far-reaching conclusions. The arguments for the fifth Marian dogma do not come from theology but from piety.
