Abstract

Our time is characterized by diverse social and material needs. What is necessary is a return to the main commandment to love God, to which the commandment to love one's neighbor is assigned. The pro-existent Christ urges his believers to love their fellow human beings. Jesus Christ, the center of all Christian devotion, is, in its own right, the goal of human love. This love is closely  related to the love for fellow human beings. This is the new principle of Christian existence: giving oneself for others. What Jesus did for us is also our task. Love among people only really deserves its name when it is based on Jesus' act of love.
