Abstract

The professor. Waldemar Chrostowski, is a professor of the Bible at the University of Cardinal Stefano Wyszyński in Warsaw and pro rector of this university. Here he presents the article: „The jubilees in the Old Testament". The Author has prepared this material as the report to the XV Symposium liturgical in Ląd, on the theme of „Jubilees”. Professor begins report from the clarifications on „time”. Then immediately goes to the explanation of the Sabbath year and its celebrations, looking above all to the biblical texts of the Old Testament. In the second part of the report prof. Chrostowski deals with the Jubilee Year always basing himself on the respective biblical texts. Explain here not only the word „yobel”, but also other signs of the jubilee celebrations in this „time holy". The third part of the report is dedicated to the „prophetia futuri” and the global vision of theme, put at the service of other symposium reports.
