Abstract

The article presents some data regarding the Salesian activity of the Servant of God, card. August Hlond, primate of the Catholic Church in Poland. His training course has been mentioned which he had begun in Valsalice (Turin) and finished with his philosophical studies in Rome at the Pontifical Gregorian University. We have identified the areas of his rich Salesian activity in various places in Central Europe. This began in September 1900 in Oświęcim (Poland), where he was feet an educational-didactic institute. The young cleric Hlond was charged with various tasks including the editing of the Polish edition of the "Salesian Bulletin": an important work importance. In 1905 he was sent to Krakow as chaplain of the Prince Aleksander Institute Lubomirski and so that he could also enroll in the famous Jagiellonian University. Subsequently he was chosen by the superiors as the founder of the institutes of Przemycel and Vienna. In 1919, instead, she was nominated superior of the newly erected German-Hungarian province, based in Vienna. With the appointment of Fr August Hlond as apostolic administrator of Upper Silesia (Poland), in the autumn of 1922, his extraordinary work as superior of the province came to an end German-Hungarian. Of course we took a very panoramic look, however sufficient to realize the validity of Hlond's work, motivated by deep conviction to act for the good of the Church and of society, placing oneself at the service of the young.
