Christian Cult in the Teaching and Activity of Bishop Cezary of Arles

Abstract

This article discusses the teaching of Saint Caesarius, Bishop of Arles (502-542). represented the Christian cult. Christians at the time of Bishop Caesarius often continued to honor traditional pagan deities and practice ancient pagan rites and customs because they do not understand the Christian liturgy. Caesarius proclaims in the sermons about the nature of Christian worship. Bishop Caesarius shows his faithful what meaning have in the Christian cult the words: temple and altar. He points to the material and spiritual understanding of temples and altars. He also teaches and explains about prayer in the Christian life the meaning of everything realized during Holy Mass.
