Abstract

The jubilee of the centenary of the Salesians in Poland is connected with the jubilee of the eightieth of the Salesian Seminary in Krakow. In 1918 the Salesians bought it from Count Los la property, which from its surname bears the common title: „tosiówka” . His story, in one most of them show the organizational difficulties associated with the development of the Salesian work in Poland, as well as the problems of training connected with the preparation of the conscripts young Salesians for his continuation of the work. In the article, in addition to the historical data, some statistical data are also reported, which they do see the extent of the problems and at the same time point out a great courage and fervor both of formators as well as formants, in enduring difficult conditions of life and staff shortages. The most important milestones in the eighty-year history of Losiówka are: the period from 1918 to 1931, when the Philosophical Institute existed here; later from 1931 to 1939 in Losiówka is located Theological Institute and the enlargement of the construction of the main building takes place. II period of the war does not interrupt the training activity, despite the fact that it is the most difficult period of the history of this house. After the war, only clerics from the southern provinces of Poland studied here - Theological Institute is together with the Philosophical Institute. In the years 1984-1988 the construction of the new seminary buildings and in 1989 the seminary was divided into two community - theological and philosophical. Since 1991, clerics from the Eastern Circumscription have also been studying here and from Slovakia.
