The text contains the report of prof. R. Murawski, held at the Congress of the „Equipe Européenne de catéchèse”, which took place at Fawley Court in England, from 27 May to June 1, 1996. The Congress was dedicated to the formation of catechists in Europe. To get the full look of the problem and facilitate the work of others, the secretariat of the Society has sent to the members of Equipe five questions: 1) What are the most important initiatives in the formation of catechists and those responsible for catechesis in your country? Where do they come from prepared? Are there specialized centers for training them? 2) What are the difficulties that encountered in the formation of catechists? How do you perceive the relationship between theoretical training and that practice? What is the place of the human sciences in education? The author here first makes a characteristic of the situation of formation of catechists in Europe in general. Then, it presents the analysis of the answers to these questions, received from 28 people from 14 countries.
