The village of Skrzatusz was first mentioned in 1438. But one can assume that Skrzatusz dates back to the 14th century. First Skrzatusz belonged to the parish of Wałcz. Founded the independent parish in Skrzatusz on November 15, 1660 Bishop Wojciech Tholibowski. The following belonged to the parish Villages and colonies: Skrzatusz, Klęśnik, Pluty, Dąbrówka, Witankowo, Chude, Czapla, Różewo, Popowo, Wiesiółka and Tarnowo. In the years 1683-1694 Wojciech Breza built the new church under the name Immaculate Conception of the Virgin Mary. The first pastor in Skrzatusz became been Mr. Jakub Krueński. The parish's assets consisted of the fields and the houses for the pastor vicars and the workers. The basis of the maintenance of the parish was formed by the several tithes from all parish villages. The first part of the parish history in Skrzatusz closed the first partition of Poland in the year 1772.
